New Releases in 2026

This February brings a truly special premiere. After the heartfelt response to the previous “Amazon Exclusive” releases, Cantabile and Nocturne No. 6 in A Flat Major, Op. 14, I am thrilled to present the third in this series.

On February 6th, my new work Andante Espressivo will be released as "Amazon Exclusive". This piece is crafted to convey deep emotion and nuance, offering a listening experience that is intimate, unique, and unforgettable. The link to listen will be made available on February 6th—mark the date for a moment of musical discovery.

And then, 4 weeks later, step into a universe where sound becomes light and emotion takes flight. My new album, 12 Celestial Bodies, is a voyage through the cosmos, a map of imagination that stretches from the familiar to the fantastical. While science counts eight planets in our solar system, many of you still remember Pluto—and we all know life on Earth would be unimaginable without the Sun and Moon.

This album is a celestial odyssey, where each track becomes a stop on your journey:

March 6th: Mars in Ashes – Begin on the fiery plains of Mars, where dust and flame weave stories of transformation.
April 3rd: Eternal Sun – Bask in the warmth of the Sun, a pulse of energy and life that radiates through every note.
April 24th: Pluto’s Path – Drift to the edges of memory, where Pluto lingers as a symbol of mystery and lost worlds.
May 22nd: Silver Moon – Glide beneath the serene glow of the Moon, its silver light guiding reflection and dreams.
June 12th: Silent Giant Jupiter – Stand in awe before the colossal presence of Jupiter, silent yet commanding, echoing the majesty of the universe.
July 3rd: Nibiru Beyond Veil – Enter the realm of Nibiru, where imagination and magic converge, and the impossible feels within reach.

On July 31, "12 Celestial Bodies" will be released across all streaming platforms, inviting you to lose yourself in a constellation of sound. Each track is more than music—it is an exploration, a voyage, an invitation to let your thoughts soar among the stars.

Tonight is the second performance of the ballet “See the Music (Hear the Dance)" after the acclaimed premiere at Grinell College on Feb 20th - the @balletdesmoines show starts tonight at 7:30pm at @hoytshermanplace, the huge and beautiful theater in Des Moines/Iowa. This unique show is also a premiere collaboration with the amazing @aizuriquartet !

I am very grateful that the fantastic choreographer @tommattinglydance has used selected movements from my Piano Sonatas for this ballet, which will be superbly interpreted on the instrument by pianist @djburnpiano .

Today is release day of the first single 'march' from my new album 'the year' - the inspiration to compose an album about the different months of the year goes back to the German female composer Fanny Hensel (1805-1847). She was the older sister of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and stood in the shadow of her famous brother all her life, as it was socially undesirable in the 19th century for a female composer to come to the fore - so even some of her works were published under the name of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. Fanny Hensel composed her cycle 'The Year' in 1841 - 12 virtuoso and impressive works.

My 12 compositions from 'the year' reflect calm and peace in our uncertain times - they are intended to help the listener find their way back to themselves and gain their own strength from within. Please enjoy #march here and in total length on every streaming platform worldwide!

Frédéric Chopin wrote his famous 'Nocturne No. 2 in E-Flat Major, Opus 9' about 200 years ago, and I have now made an arrangement of this legendary piece, with adding my personal "Oestlind" note - now available on all streaming platforms!

Today's technology simplifies many things, but the first idea always comes from the head.

I very deliberately chose a historical title to express my appreciation for the music of the Romantic period. It is my first EP in 4 years, produced again in the "Grand Piano" sound - and each composition is always an OESTLIND at the end.

When I compose, I always need inner peace - and it has proven to always write the first notes with pencil in a bound music book. Like so many composers before me in the last centuries.

Today my new album "A Child's World" was released - dedicated to my son, of course. But also to all other children in the world - I named many of the tracks after qualities I wish for children, e.g.: "Identity", "Generosity", "Sincerity" or "Simplicity". On the album are 12 beautiful pieces that invite you to rest and, as title 2 is named, "From Here to Eternity" may remain.

A long time ago, in 2009, I composed "Like a Fairy Tale" - it was one of my first published tracks as a composer and still one of the most beautiful ones. On #spotify it's my most played track, on #applemusic the most downloaded one.

I still love playing the piece - here on my #östlindalmquist piano! This piano manufactury was founded in 1888 in Arvika/Sweden - by the nephew of my great-great-great-grandfather. And I live on the musician tradition - a great honor!

Dr. Goetz Oestlind (original spelling Dr. Götz Östlind) studied piano under Conrad Hansen‘s alumni Gisela Stumme and Prof. Lev Natochenny. He completed his studies of Applied Cultural Studies with a Master‘s degree (M.A.) and earned his Ph.D. with his dissertation on ‚Counterpoint in Film Music‘.

In 2006 he composed his first international TV commercials for NIVEA (‚The Secret in Baby‘s Skin‘ and ‚Plunging Neckline‘), in 2010 his first film score for the arte production ‚Angriff aus dem Nichts‘. He became the competition king in Europe's biggest TV show, ‚Wetten, dass..?‘, in 2006 with his absolute pitch and, as part of the piano duo ‚David & Götz‘, he has played more than 700 concerts so far.

In the past years, he has established himself worldwide as a well-known composer and won the prestigious ‚Hollywood Music in Media Award‘ in the category ‚Outstanding Instrumental Performance‘ in 2021.

The U.S. American ‚Richmond Ballet‘ performed the acclaimed world premiere ‚Jahreszeiten‘, which musically consisted of Oestlind‘s Piano Sonatas in 2021. Twelve other performances followed. The ‚Czech National Symphony Orchestra‘ recorded his ‚Fantasy for Piano & Orchestra in B Minor, Op. 8‘ with pianist Sergey Belyavsky in Prague.

In 2025 the U.S. American ‚Ballet des Moines‘ performed the world premiere ‚See the Music (Hear the Dance)‘, composed of selected movements from Oestlind's Piano Sonatas.

His compositions have been streamed almost 150 million times on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and others.
